Update on Huron Washington Parkette

  • TEMPORARY PARKETTE (406 Huron St at Washington Ave):
Toronto Parks staff will begin installation of the playground equipment on Thursday & Friday, June 27 – 28. Prior to this, their subcontractor is prepping the land (excavation, fence, grade & sod).
  • Pending any further delays, the parkette should be open to the public after July 10 once inspections have been passed, according to Councillor Mike Layton’s office.
  • Unfortunately, somebody decided to remove the slightly storm-damaged mulberry tree, which was a perennial draw during the summer for kids & adults looking for ripe mulberries.
