University of Toronto Schools Renovation:
Please be advised that the following work will take place on the University of Toronto Schools’ construction site in the coming days and weeks:
Week of April 15, 2019
Arrival of shoring steel continues.
Abatement of 371 Bloor Street.
Week of April 22, 2019
Abatement of 371 Bloor Street continues.
Spadina access will open by April 22, 2019 at 7 am. Following the opening of this access point, the Washington/Huron laneway access point will be closed (signage will be placed when this occurs redirecting parkers to the Spadina access point).
Drilling & heavy construction activity and noise levels are anticipated beginning approximately for a period of 4 to 5 weeks:
A large drilling rig will be on site to perform cassion drilling for shoring the construction area closer to Huron Street in order to excavate the area.
This noisy work is scheduled daily (Monday to Friday) 7 am to approximately 3 pm. We advise tenants to prepare for this noisy work by keeping windows closed and to consider daily plans as a result.
Work will and may take place from Monday to Friday between 7 am and 7 pm; Saturday from 9 am to 7 pm, which adheres to the City of Toronto noise bylaws.

366/368 Huron Street – Prototype Laneway Houses
April 2019
Phase Three This project, which will see prototype lane way housing constructed at 366 and 368 Huron Street, is now expected to be largely completed by November 15, 2019. The contract was awarded to Index Construction. The work will involve the construction of 1 infill single family residence and 2 small laneway houses.
Week of April 15: Index will be onsite doing measurements
Week of April 22: Work commencing will include minor excavation to facilitate site servicing, removal of existing day care space and some trees.
Late April, early May: Arrival of prefabricated exterior wall panels and slabs, which were chosen to speed up construction process. Lane way obstruction is possible at this time and a crane will be in use to place panels.
Noise work will be restricted to 1 pm to 3 pm weekdays, as per municipal by-laws.
Future updates will be posted at the earliest opportunity.
