Huron Sussex Neighbourhood Housing Consultation Session
October 26, 2017
7:30 – 9:30 pm

St. Thomas Anglican Church Hall
383 Huron Street

From 2012 to 2014, the Huron-Sussex Residents’ Organization, the University of Toronto, two successive Ward 20 City Councillors and the broader Huron-Sussex community worked together to develop the Huron-Sussex Neighbourhood Plan. The plan provides recommendations for physical changes to the community, including laneway housing, new mid-rise buildings and public space enhancements. The housing strategy is part of the implementation phase of the plan and will augment it by developing a vision for occupancy and resident composition.

The October 26 consultation will be specific to Huron-Sussex. It is also part of a larger project to create a vision for both Huron-Sussex and the UT student family housing buildings on Charles St. The goal of the project is to create a plan that will support the future growth of stable and successful communities in these two locations. The project is being led by N Barry Lyon Consultants and Brook McIlroy. Both firms worked on and wrote the Huron-Sussex Neighbourhood Plan.
