UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO ST. GEORGE CAMPUS HOUSING STUDY
The University of Toronto has retained NBLC and Brook McIlroy to develop a housing strategy for the St. George Campus. This study focuses on family housing (not single student housing) within the Huron-Sussex and Charles and Yonge Street communities. The goal is to create a vision for this unique and diverse housing portfolio that will support the future growth of stable and successful communities.
In 2014, a Neighbourhood Plan was created for the Huron-Sussex neighbourhood, which consists of more than 80 properties that house a mix of long-term residents, new faculty, visiting faculty and a few student families. The Plan provides recommendations for physical changes to this community, including laneway housing, new mid-rise buildings and public space enhancements. The Housing Strategy will augment this Plan by developing a vision for occupancy and resident composition.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
We would like your input on draft directions for the University of Toronto Housing Study for the St. George Campus. Please attend the upcoming public consultation for the Huron-Sussex neighbourhood to discuss your vision for housing in your community! Participation for the entire 2 hour session is not required.
No previous consultation attendance is required. A supervised children’s activity table will be provided.
